IRTRANS driver Install with ZALMAn case

Postby audiophile » Wed 30. Jul 2008, 10:49

i recently reinstalled my pc. I have Zalman 160 case

I downloaded the latest setup.exe from your site. I install the driver and selecte the right options it downloads the Visuall C++
stuff.

Then it tells me to reboot.

However after reboot my remote does not work and that there is a device without driver installed ( IRTrans USB serial device )

In the USB section there is a IRTrans Hub correctly installed.. Is there somethign wrong with the new installation file ?

I have pointed Vista to the IR Trans directory and says there is no devie driver for the Serial USB IRtrans device.

Hi,
the installation files are surely OK - the drivers have not been changed for a year.

No idea what is wrong with your installation - having an IRTrans USB Hub is also not correct - the IRTrans device does not have any Hub.

Furthermore the device should not be connected until the Software & Drivers are installed.

ok this might provide more feedback.

After installing the drivers everything is ok.

However when you go into the IRTrans Hub options in device discovery and check the
box Load VCP, next time the PC reboots after device manager detects a new device.

The description is device attached to IRTrans Hub. The driver is not included in the latest version of IR Trans software.

From memory it is a FTDI type device. Any ideas what it is ? I will get more info from the Info provided by device manager

Hi,
why are you modifying any USB Device options if everything works fine ????

The standard installation works obviously - changing low level USB Device device options might do a lot of things you do not want ...

ok cool.

One last question. Is there any way you can setup a power management tab that "allows you to use your remote to wake up the pc".

Most other USB devices have that option, however it is not available with IRTrans USB.

Would be helpful especially with Media centre implementations.

Hi,
please read the docs regarding power on.

IRTrans is using hardware (relay) to wake up the PC and not USB Wake up. Relay power on works always while USB only supports waking up from standby.

As we neither sell nor manufacture this hardware we do not have any documentation.

Please go to the manufactureres website.
