IrTrans LAN constantly receiving garbage

After working properly before my IrTrans LAN module is now constantly receiving garbage IR codes even when *no* ir device is nearby transmitting. Also, resetting the device takes a very long time (at least, the web server takes *very* long to start up). Connecting the external receiver, and selecting that in the web server and saving the settings freezes the module completely.

Here is a bit of the log as captured with iRed2. As you can see from the timestamps, and the strings received, this is simply garbage

LAN version is L1.11.02
IR version is E6.08.30

/me thinks that the module's IR received for some reason gets completely miscalibrated after some time. I did not change any other setting on my device since it worked properly some time ago, and I also never rebooted it in months time. heat problems causing this garbage?

any help appreciated

To add to this:

disabling "internal leds active" and "external leds active" in the General config pane of the web server for example does not stop this flow of garbage. only disabling "IR receive" does stop it, but that, of course, is not really a solution.

Hi,
that happens if you have strong IR noise in the room.

That can be caused by fluroescent lamps, Plasma TVs, LCD / LED TVs (backlight), transmitters for IR 3D glasses.

You can only try to relocate the IRTrans or find the source of the IR noise. We do have special IR Receivers that map some of the noise out, however those receivers will no longer receive all IR Codes.

mmh... not sure about this.
The receiver has been in the same place all the time, no new devices have been added to the room/configuration. I will try to move it to another room and see how it behaves.

Hmm, theoretically it would be possible that the IR Receiver is defective, however we never had that.

Please try to move the device to a different room or cover it alltogether (e.g. with a blanket).

hello

i have a problem like this.
My room have no lights, no plasma or lcd.
I have only a projector with a transmitter for IR 3D glasses.
When the transmitter is on, my irtrans could not receive ir signal from my remotes for self repeat.
When the transmitter is off, my irtrans works.
There is way to filter the transmitter ? I can't turned it off when i watch 3d movie for example.

Thank you

Hi,
those transmitters sometimes work via IR. There is no way to filter that as the IRTrans has to be able to receive all kinds of IR codes.

If you do not need IR Receiving you can switch it off alltogether in the device settings.

i need self repeat so i can't turn it off and i need 3D glasses too...
but i don't need self repeat for 3D glasses.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about that. There is no way for the IRTrans to differentiate which codes to repeat.
