External IR LED 6-way stick-on only?

Got my External IR LED 6-way today.
Planning to replace the HighPower external with the 6-way as I can't get efficient coverage with it.
Before I go the trial-and-error route I thought I'd ask.

I need to keep normal remotes usable so wondering if the stick-on's are see through (for IR) or if the will block the regular remote's IR.

If they do block, can I expect them to work if placed 2-3 inches away (in front, slightly below angled towards the device's IR receiver).

Or... did I order the wrong ones?

Hi,
depending on the equipment the small stick-on LEDs have a range of up to 20-30cm.

They will block IR, however placing them a bit on the side is usually no problem.

It is very important to remove the protective piece of paper covering the front side.

Works great. Still a few components to go but so far so good.
