update VF210 firmware from Linux?

Postby Matt23 » Thu 3. Sep 2009, 03:09

Hi all--

I have a VF210 unit as part of my Origen HTPC case. I would like to update the module to the latest firmware (05.08.10) but the firmware update utility only runs in Windows as provided by Origen. I assume Windows and not DOS since the module is USB-driven and DOS USB drivers are quite a rare beast :)

Is there a Linux build of something that will update the firmware for this module? Or is this something in the hands of Origen?... in which case I won't hold my breath for that to happen :D

I'm just not looking forward to resizing my ext3 partition on the disk, installing windows, and then booting into it just to update the firmware on the VF210 module.

thanks for any advice you can provide!
