IR "link" (IR bender) and IRTrans went haywire

Postby mickem » Fri 5. Mar 2010, 20:28

Hello,

I have been using IR trans for years and everything has worked perfectly till I got a product called "IR bender" it is used to relay IR signals.
The problem is that now IRTrans no longer detects commands, it seems the timing is off or something since it just reads garbage 90% of the time (the remaining 10% it works).

No other devices seem affected apart from IRTrans so is there anything I can do to either make IRTrans work with a another IR repeater or do I need to shop around for another IR module?

No idea what causes these problems. The problem with "dumb" IR Relay systems is that the relay (and amplify) any IR noise that might be there.
While a normal IR Receiver can filter out unwanted signals the IRTrans has to receive all IR signals as it can receive almost any IR Codes.
