I'm about to buy the IRTrans LAN controller. Can I connect this controller to my Xantech connecting block 78944 http://www.xantech.com/manuals/78944.pdf which has IR RCVR jack. Or should I connect any wires, or should I use a Xantech IR receiver?

Hi,
in general direct connections are problematic. Some people reported that it works, however one customer also reported a broken IRTrans device after doing that.

Therefore we would recommend to use a Xantech IR Receiver.
