RS232 control with IRTrans LAN Controller XL

I have the IRTrans LAN Controller XL and the feature list shows "RS232 interface to control external devices" which is what I would like to do.

I have the several manuals that came with the LAN Controller XL but cannot find how to control external devices with RS232.

Grateful for help.

Thanks

The easiest way is to define RS232 sequences using the GUI client (Learn Dialog - Add RS232 code).

These RS232 codes can then be sent the same way as IR Codes.

Thank you.

Do I connect the RS232 controllable device to the RS232 port on the front of the Lan Controller XL?

Is that a standard RS232 pinout?

Thanks again

Hi,
yes, correct. You will need to use the front RS232 connector.

It has got the same Pin-Out as a PC (however it is a female connector).
