Range if IrTrans ethernet (distance & width)?

Postby jleroux61 » Sat 9. Aug 2008, 16:05

I am interrested in using the IrTrans device for IR home automation. I am wondering about the IR quality. How far does it reach and which area (width) can you reach if the transmitter is e.g. at a distance of 4m?
Thanks

Hi,
I moved the thread to the English forum ...

Regarding your question: The range of the internal IR Transmitters is around 10-15m.

The beam is quite narrow (around 20-30°), however due to reflections on walls and ceiling the effective area is a lot bigger,
however that depends on your actual environment.

In case the beam is too narrow you can extend it with an additional external High Power Transmitter
