How figure out timing for new rem file

Postby ocgltd » Tue 30. Dec 2008, 03:37

I have irtrans working great with an existing remote. I recently picked up a no name brand vcr and need to create a REM file for it.

I know how to get the IR codes with the irtrans debug command, but how do I figure out the TIMING line for the REM file??

Hi,
that can only be done via learning the commands. The debug output does not give you any timing information.

In general I would not suggest to make a .rem file manually.

Maybe that's what I'm missing...

I have a linux only environment. Is there a GUI / other program which will create the REM file for me?

Hi,
the IRTrans ASCII client (irclient) can learn IR Codes.

Simply start it with "irclient localhost". The server needs to be running of course.
