IP relay with translation

Postby simples » Tue 10. Apr 2012, 11:38

Hello,

We have two IRTrans ethernet devices: IRTrans LAN I/O (device 1) and IRTrans Ethernet PoE (device 2)
IR Translation is set on the device 1 (command A to command B). There is IP relay set from device 1 to device 2. As soon as we receive command A on device 1, device 2 sends command A and command B simultaneously. But we expect only translated command B to be sent. How can we do that?

Hi,
please change your settings - normally it should work that way.

If you are relaying to a target IP please disable "Broadcast IR Relay" - otherwise you might have double commands.

Please check our device settings (below are attached screenshots of device 1 settings and device 2 settings).

*.tra and *.rem files are flashed in device 1, IR server is stopped and wу have command A sent from device 2 IR output instead of command B sent.

in case if we have remotes and translation flashed in both devices (1 and 2) > we have only command A
in case if we have remotes flashed in device 1 and the translation flashed in device 2 > we have both commands A and B sent from device 2 IR output

what to do (to change in settings) if we want only command B to be sent?

I can only see one configuration - the .tif file is not visible.

You should use the translation on the receiving device for such a configuration.

Furthermore you should use "LED D" (Default) on the relay page of the receiving device. The LED selection on the transmitting side is done in the translation if needed.

Now we have set settings exactly as you recommended and we still have both commands (A and B) sent from device 2 IR output.

No idea, we will need to check in our lab. We do have customer using the system that way, therefore I am sure it works.

I just setup a test system here to try that out myself.

It works as it should, there has to be some problem on your side.

How do you see that both commands are sent?
Do you have both IRTrans devices in one room?
How does the LED of the IRTrans device blink?

Maybe you will need to trace your network traffic to see what is happening.

Furthermore please try that out with only a translation in place on the sending side (no IRDB on any of the units).

Thank you for answer, we have found out what was the problem.

The second command was from key release code which was not translated.
