my Fritz@Box does not found the LAN IRTrans device

Postby pcAlko » Sun 25. Dec 2011, 19:20

Dear community!

I pluged in the IRTrans LAN case into my Fritz.Box, but I found there no new IP-Address.
So I give my Fritz.Box the new IP 192.168.0.1
with the subnetmask 255.255.255.0
but ther was the same
after 30 seconds I test 192.186.0.32 in my firefox
and I get
</td></tr></table></body></html>

But I dont see this address in my Fritz.Box Web-Interface

what shall I do now?

Thanks for helping

Hi,
no idea what the problem is here.

Do you have a different PC or LINUX machine in your network?

Using the Fritzbox for the server or as a frontend for the IRTrans devices has not been testet and is therefore not supported.

Hi,
please try the IPAssign application on your PC to see which IP Address the IRTrans device has.

You can also change the address using that APP.

Hi,

sudo /usr/local/irtrans/ip_assign
Code: Select all
IRTrans Ethernet ip_assign Tool Version 02.01.01

Own Interfaces / IPs: 192.168.0.50

No IRTrans Ethernet device(s) found

the same,
I try also before

any other idea?
I have no Windows PC
maybe I can test it by my brother!

Hi,
maybe a firewall blocks the access here. Furthermore ip_assign uses the same port as a DHCP Server - therefore no DHCP Server shall be running on the PC.

yes of course, I read it also in the docu.
But I am not shure whether an dhcp server running

$>ps -ef | grep -i dhcp
Code: Select all
root      6097     1  0 17:40 ?        00:00:00 dhclient3 -e IF_METRIC=100 -pf /var/run/dhclient.eth0.pid -lf /var/lib/dhcp3/dhclient.eth0.leases eth0
kollia    6465  1912  0 17:50 pts/1    00:00:00 grep --color=auto -i dhcp

I think thats only the client connected with the fritz.box
But isn't it that running an dhcp server on the fritz.box?

I pluged in the IRTrans device directly by my desktop PC
when I restart my network
$>/etc/init.d/networking restart
the command hanging in the restart process
and I dont get an IP address
or do I need a crossed network-cable?

also ip_assign do not find the device

PS%: on my desktop-PC running no firewall
on the "FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7170 Annex A"
I cannot find any properties on the web-interface
so I'm thinking there running also no firewall

Hi,
no idea what the problem might be here - there are simply to many variables.

Could you try it with a Windows PC?

Hi,

yes of course, now I have done
and I want to describe here now my resolution
maybe any user read this and it will be helpful

on Windows there was the same problem with ip_assign.exe
I tryed it with the GUI IPAssing.exe
by clicking on "Rescan Devises" there it shown also nothing
after waiting the 30 seconds
I pressed again -> also nothing
after a few clicks
I see the Device
But when you click than again or inside the "IRTrans Devices" field
the GUI lose again the device
and I have to try again a few clicks
I don't know, but the GUI do not find always any device

so OK
I gave him with that tool an new IP inside my network 192.168.10.15
and now the Fritz.Box also by me at home on LINUX find the device *LOL*

But the Web-Interface on this address do not running
it shows only
Code: Select all
</td></tr></table></body></html>

the same behavior was also on Windows

when I make an port scan with nmap
it told me that the port 80 for http is open
$>nmap 192.168.10.15
Code: Select all
Starting Nmap 5.00 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2012-01-05 21:43 CET
Interesting ports on 192.168.10.15:
Not shown: 999 closed ports
PORT   STATE SERVICE
80/tcp open  http

Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 3.15 seconds

but I think it's no problem
the irserver is now running correctly

Hi,
thank you for the update.

No idea what causes that - so far we have not seen such a strange behaviour.
