IRTrans's "lcdproc" fork for enabling VFD is very old!

Postby wamarler » Thu 5. Nov 2009, 18:29

Currently the LCDProc project is up to 0.5.2 (http://lcdproc.omnipotent.net/)
The LCDProc that we can download from IRTrans is 0.4.3! (http://www.irtrans.de/en/download/linux.php).

There have been a lot of great feature enhancements made in the 0.5.x tree of lcdproc. Is there anything I can do to build irtrans support into 0.5.2? (can I just copy the irtrans.h and irtrans.c into the 0.5.2 drivers source path, hack in something to "--enable-driver=irtrans", and will it build?)

If not, can you update your ldcproc fork?

It's been years since this was touched... maybe it's ok to release the irtrans VFD source to the lcdproc community now? Someone there will be able to maintain it I'm sure, and then it will get propagated into standard Debian, Redhat, Gentoo (etc) releases.

Thank you!

As the VFD Driver is only used for OEM products there will be no further developments of this drivers.
Please note that we can only what the OEM requests.
