How to select only one external LED ?

Postby nickel » Fri 18. Dec 2009, 12:42

Hello,

I'm using LAN Controller XXL.
I'm launching irserver on Linux.

I'm using ASCII interface, because irclient cannot select specific external LED, but ASCII commands doesn't seems to work like I understand.

In fact, when I send following commands, resulting IR send isn't comprehensive :
- Only one external LED on port 3
- Asnd netgem,1,L1 => signal sent
- Asnd netgem,1,L2 => signal sent
- Asnd netgem,1,L3 => signal sent
...
- Asnd netgem,1,L19 => signal sent

I'm expecting that only L7 works regarding supplementary manual information.

Could you explain me where I'm wrong ?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
according to the documentation you should use a lower "l" to select the LED, however I am not sure if that is the problem.
Furthermore numbering of the LEDs starts with "1" when using the TCP ASCII Interface.

BTW: The IRTrans ASCII Client does support LED Selection:
send : irclient <ip> <remote> <command> <sendmask> <bus> <led>

To see if everything is connected correctly on the hardware size it would be helpful to see if sending via the IRTrans GUI Client does work correctly.

Anyways, I will check it with one device here and let you know if and how it works.

I have just seen that you use the ASCII Interface with the irserver, correct ?

That might not work as it is not fully implemented. The TCP ASCII Interface is fully implemented only on the devices (e.g. LAN Controller XXL).

Therefore you should use irclient.exe - that will work correctly.

Please let us know if that helps you, otherwise we will see if we change / extend the SW a bit.
