Learning IR codes

Postby jeremie » Thu 8. Sep 2011, 09:25

Hi,

I have to learn several IR codes from multiple remotes with a IRTrans USB v3.8. I got the software from this website on Monday.

I started with a Samsung BN63-05508A but I can't get IR codes from this remote.

I tried the different modes of acquisition and I got:

With the GUI client (running with Mono):

Code: Select all
[REMOTE]
  [NAME]samsung

[TIMING]
  [0][N]1[1]2952 400[RC]1[RP]0[FREQ]38[SB]

[COMMANDS]
  [power0][T]0[D]S
  [power2][RAW]3[FREQ]38[D]0 8 904
  [power3@][T]0[D]S

With the irclient application:

Code: Select all
[REMOTE]
  [NAME]toto

[TIMING]
  [0][N]1[1]2920 400[RC]1[RP]0[FREQ]38[SB]

[COMMANDS]
  [power][T]0[D]S
  [power2][T]0[D]S
  [power3][RAW]3[FREQ]38[D]0 8 912

I also tried with other remotes with the GUI application and I got the these results:

Code: Select all
[REMOTE]
  [NAME]akai

[TIMING]
  [0][N]1[1]7464 400[RC]1[RP]0[FREQ]38[SB]

[COMMANDS]
  [power][T]0[D]S
  [power2][RAW]3[FREQ]38[D]0 24 1248
  [power3@][T]0[D]S

Code: Select all
[REMOTE]
  [NAME]philips dvd player

[TIMING]
  [0][N]1[1]1064 400[RC]1[RP]0[FREQ]38
  [1][N]2[1]1032 4920[2]480 400[RC]1[RP]0[FREQ]38[SB]

[COMMANDS]
  [power][T]0[D]0
  [power2][RAW]5[FREQ]38[D]1032 0 16 864 408
  [power3@][T]1[D]S0

Code: Select all
[REMOTE]
  [NAME]tt

[TIMING]
  [0][N]1[1]480 2952[RC]1[RP]0[FREQ]38
  [1][N]2[1]480 3008[2]344 3016[RC]1[RP]0[FREQ]38[SB]

[COMMANDS]
  [power][T]0[D]0000
  [power2][RAW]9[FREQ]38[D]512 0 8 960 344 0 8 976 400
  [power3@][T]1[D]S00

I don't understand these results. Do I have wrongly use the software or the hardware??

Thank you for your help.

Hi,
you are right, these codes look very strange.

Which Software and Firmware versions are you using for learning?

Did you change any of the device settings using the ASCII Client? That is not supported for devices with current firmware.

Please check the device settings using the GUI Client (with Mono or Windows).
If in doubt please post a screenshot of the first the 3 tab pages from the Device settings.

Hi,

I use the version 7.1.8.4273 of the GUI client and the version 6.08.18 of the irserver.

I did not change the settings of the device. (See the images)

I also tried the application on a Windows machine and I got the same results.

Maybe I there is a problem with the device. I don't understand.

Thank you for your time and your help.

No, I don't have an external receiver.

Also, here is the log in the irserver when I try to learn a code from a samsung remote.

Maybe it will help you to discover what's wrong!

Hi,
I do not mean an external receiver. The IRTrans USB can optionally be shipped with a special internal codelearning receiver.

When did you buy the IRTrans USB?

No, we did not order a special internal receiver.

We ordered a simple IRTrans USB device (0531290511) on the 05/06/2011 (Invoice No. 1105023).
