I managed to work around this by installing an older version (which is capable of installing the runtime libraries correctly, then uninstalling that version and installing the latest, which now sees the libraries already installed.)
I hope this information is helpful in pinning down the bug.

I am having the same issues with x64 Windows 7 Build 7100.

Tried installing the distributible from Microsoft then running the IRTrans setup again, without success. Please advise.

No idea why - on all systems we have tested that is working.

Could you make available an older version of the setup.exe installer file? Other users said they have had success with previous versions, and your website only lists the current download.

Alternatively, is there any kind of logging I can turn on via a commandline switch that will help us troubleshoot why this issuse is preventing installation for myself and other users? It's a documented and repeatable issue, I was really hoping for a better answer than "it works for us."

We do not keep any older SW versions.

Please note that all this SW is primarily for our customer using devices made and sold by IRTrans.
Everything else is a free service we provide for people using devices not sold or made by IRTrans.

If you need further support for OEM versions please ask OrigenAE.

I was able to install the IRTrans USB driver in Windows 7 x64 using the following link:

http://www.origenae.com/board/bbs/downl ... id=80&no=0

That installer was able to download a Microsoft redistributible runtime (not sure which one), then go through the process of installing the driver.

Hello everybody.

I experienced the same issue, and solved it like this:
1.Install the VC2005 redistributable package which can be downloaded here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=EB4EBE2D-33C0-4A47-9DD4-B9A6D7BD44DA&displaylang=en
2. Launch the IRTrans software installer

If you already have connected the IRTrans, the driver will not be correctly assigned to the IRTrans Windows 7 device.
To do this, just follow the troubleshoot options of Windows 7 control panel and it will work.
If you don't know how:
1. Go to control panel / hardware and sound / devices and printers. There you will see a "unknown USB device" or "IRTrans USB device"
2. Right click on it and choose troubleshoot
3. Follow instructions. The wizard will find the appropriate driver installed on the system.
