Repetition of IR code

Postby lagommette » Mon 1. Feb 2010, 09:18

Hello,

Is there a way to control the number of times an IR code is repeated ? I do not see any parameter in the Active-x calls that could do it.

It looks like the repetition depends on how long someone presses the remote button while the learning session.

How can I force the IRTRans to send only once a particullar IR code ?

Maybe it works the other way round : Force IRTrans to learn only one repetition ?

Thanks very much for your answer.

Regards,

Hi,
it is impossible to force the IRTrans to only learn a single code. The reason is, that some IR Code formats (e.g. Sony, RC5, RC6, RCMM) need repeats to understand single IR Codes.

There is, however, a very simple trick to make sure that only a single IR Code is learned: When learning code press the remote button only very shortly (just a "tap").
Then only a very short IR Code is learned.

Please note that the Repeat count is part of the IR Timing. That means it will, in most cases, be learned together with the first button press in a .rem file.
