How many codes fit in 128Kb?

Hi, I am considering the purchase of a LAN Controller XL, but I am curious to know what the average number of IR codes one would be able store in the 128Kb flash IR database is. Also, would serial commands typically be considered to take up less space?
I understand that this would have to be a very general figure since these codes vary greatly. Thanks!

Hi,
you are right, that mainly depends on the IR codes and the lenghts of their names.

A typical IR code has a lenght of 80-100 Bytes. In addition the names need to be stored.
Typical figures are 800 - 1000 different IR codes in 128KB Flash. That should be enough for even the most complicated projects.

RS232 codes might be shorter - however that depends on their length.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. The available storage space sounds more than adequate.
